Role Description

The Software Build & Integration Engineer is responsible for all aspects of 

the software build and deployment process, including configuration and 

distributing release artifacts.The Build Engineer will work closely with the 

Release & Change Manager and the Development, Support, QA and 

Infrastructure teams. It requires strong problem solving skills and 

excellent communication skills, combined with good technical ability 

and a pro-active approach.

Key Responsibilities

* Contribute to the strategy & vision of continuous integration and delivery 

   and owning the implementation.

* The continuous improvement & automation of the build & deployment 

    processes / strategies.

* Own & manage Dev environment

* Develop / maintain build & deployment scripts.

* Manage & maintain source control, continuous integration server.

* Support defect / issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira).

* Support & sys admin of Agile development tools (Atlassian).

* Contribute to defining development, test and release processes.

* Work closely with Project Managers, Development, Support and QA 

   teams to ensure that the tools being used meet their requirements

Desired Skills/ Experience

* Build and configuration management experience in a multi-team 

   environment.

* Expert knowledge of Continuous Integration implementations.

* Expert knowledge of Continuous deployment.

* Expert knowledge of maintaining build scripts (Ant, Maven).

* Good understanding of all aspects of the software development life 

   cycle.

* Knowledge of branching strategies and how to merge effectively.

* Experience of working with development teams to develop and automate 

    build processes.

* Ability to prioritise and organise

Business Analyst & Project Manager with strong Scrum and Agile 

project management and business analysis experience in Open Source

 (LAMP or Java) software and technology. Proven experience as a Scrum 

Master in coaching and mentoring team members in the use of Scrum /

 XP is essential to get this opportunity to improve the team and to join

legal solutions provider based in Central London.

As the Scrum Master, Business Analyst & Project Manager you will 

manage all aspects of the Open Source / LAMP development project 

lifecycle for my clients customer facing web development products

 (ie Web 2.0, Social Networking, Community Sites, E-commerce, 

Microsites, Websites, CMS and Knowledge Portals). Your time will

 be spent coaching the team in Scrum, capturing requirements from

 key stakeholders and project managing.

Skills required for the role of Scrum Master, Business Analyst & 

Project Manager are:

* Agile project experience, with experience as a Scrum Master 

  providing coaching and mentoring to team members on the use of 

  Scrum / XP

* Strong business analysis and requirements gathering experience

* Experience of prioritising and managing multiple web development 

   projects through the whole project lifecycle including working with 

   3rd parties & offshore resources

* Excellent stakeholder management skills combined with a flexible 

  and adaptable approach in order to achieve successful stakeholder 

  satisfaction

* The core of the development with my client is within the Open Source 

  / LAMP stack, therefore any experience of Linux, Apache, MySQL 

   and / or PHP is relevant and experience of test driven development

   / TDD would also be beneficial but by no means essential

Any experience of working with CMS / Content Management Systems 

such as Drupal or Joomla would be great but not essential.
