The business is growing fast and has ambitious plans. To ensure the business delivers against these, the decision has recently been made to recruit a Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Cloud Computing into the executive team and lead the company's expanding operations team. 


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the operations function and ensure the successful delivery, management and support of client solutions, as well as the underlying infrastructure.
  • As a key member of the executive team, provide strong leadership and support and encourage the company's values. 
  • Recruit, motivate and retain a high performing delivery-focused operations team (100+ people). Set clearly defined goals and objectives to ensure the team achieves excellence and grows client satisfaction.
  • Develop strong lines of communication within the team, across the broader organisation, with suppliers and most importantly with clients.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and ensure both operational and financial goals are exceeded. Introduce external bench marking to measure how the function is performing against key competitors.
  • Ensure all IT solutions are designed, tested and implemented within budget, on time and to a standard that exceeds defined project requirements.
  • Identify ways for the operations team to improve the client engagement model, including the 24x7 client support and IT functions, by ensuring that processes, procedures and controls are in place to deliver 100% client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the other members of the executive team to help define the broader strategy and direction of the company.


Desired Skills & Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 15+ years leadership experience in IT and professional services, which includes successfully building and managing successful, customer-focused IT operations, service delivery and support functions of a similar size (100+ people) that follow ITIL best practices.
  • Proven track record of success within a similar IT Managed Services Provider / Cloud Computing environment, along with an intimate knowledge of related infrastructure solutions (IaaS, PaaS), productivity apps (SaaS) and consultancy services.
  • Experience of developing and implementing processes, procedures and controls to improve client satisfaction and loyalty, as well as drive operational efficiencies.
  • Leadership experience of incident, problem and change management.
  • First-class leadership and people management skills. Proven ability to motivate and inspire others to over perform, whilst fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the gravitas to build solid, trusted relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers at all levels.
  • The ability to stay calm and perform under pressure and handle complex, urgent matters quickly and efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment and at ease with change and transformation.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly successful mid-sized IT business providing Business Intelligence solutions and services.

The role will take over overall management of this business unit, and will own the P&L. With an established team of high caliber staff, the role will focus on:

  • Driving the growth of high value services revenue

  • Identification of sources of higher margin business

 
In addition to building the business in existing markets, the incumbent will investigate the potential to take the business into new sectors, where market demand is compatible with the current range of offerings.

  • Experience of either running a P&L, or of managing a practice area and ready to take a bigger challenge -- this will include solid management experience and ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the ""numbers"" side of the business
  • Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and data warehousing software and solutions
  • Experience working within an IT services, IT consulting or software business
  • Good experience of managing project teams, to ensure implementations are on time and within budget, taking a robust approach to client management

  • Ideally experience of the public sector and health sector
  • Demonstrate capability to open up new sources of revenue in other sectors

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Group President - Food FMCG Beverages Brand will provide leadership and have full P&L responsibility for an organization. He/she will be accountable for the organization’s overall growth, competitive advantage and long-term position as a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of food fmcg beverages brands. 


Additional responsibilities of the Group President will also include the following: 


  • Provide leadership for all commercial activity and operations for the Food Fmcg Beverages business unit.
  • Manage the Group’s P&L to ensure realization of profit and expense targets.

Reporting to the President of our global consumer goods business unit, the Human Resources Director provides proactive leadership, direction, and professional expertise in all areas of human resources management for all of  our consumer goods global locations, but with an emphasis on staffing and recruiting, talent management, and employee and labor relations. The Human Resources Director will be described as a proactive, hands-on manager skilled in functioning in a fast paced, team-oriented business environment. They will have the well-developed interpersonal skills necessary to function across all levels of the organization. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Lead the short and long term strategies of the business unit by assessing the business needs, processes and policies, and develop a pro-active, responsive, and integrated human resources function that aligns practices and policies across all facilities and locations.
  • Assume proactive leadership and direction of all human resources policies and programs with an ongoing emphasis on staffing and recruitment, talent management, and employee and labor relations.
  • Establish a consultative relationship with the President and key executives of the business unit at headquarters and other sites and geographies to ensure compliance with organization policies, procedures, and legal obligations on a global scale.
  • Define and realize cost efficiencies from the application of effective staffing, talent management, and other human resource functions at all levels of the business unit in collaboration with key executives and managers across all locations.
  • Recommend and implement human resources plans and programs that will assist the business in the achievement of targets in revenue growth and profitability.
  • Review and recommend compensation and benefits programs that manage costs and increase productivity across the business unit, are consistent with maintenance of employee motivation, and in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Review and update management and organization development programs and succession planning as appropriate across the business unit.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide continuous training and support for the global Human Resources team.
  • Enhance existing training and development platforms across the business and recommend improvements and modifications as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable international, national, state, and local regulations and laws on an optimal cost basis.
  • Assume proactive responsibility for labor relations across all facilities of the business unit. Personally provide hands-on leadership of programs and specific actions to address labor relations issues.
  • Ensure that all plans, programs, and policies in the human resources area are established and managed in a manner that is compliant and complementary with corporate policies and programs of the parent organization.
  • Accept organizational direction from the parent company and effectively implement decisions and changes at a business level.



SKILLS & ABILITIES: 


  • This individual must be able to define human resources strategy and program development as a member of a management team, while also proactively addressing the hands-on tactical and HR operational needs of the business organization at all levels.
  • This executive will be experienced in positioning the human resources function and department as a strategic business partner with executives across the organization and implementing human resource changes to achieve business results.
  • While this executive will be adept at the formulation of effective programs, they will also have demonstrated common sense, maturity, and sound judgment in addressing business issues.




EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 


  • Minimum of 15 years of broad-based human resources experience with increasingly significant levels of responsibility involving major business decisions.
  • Additionally, at least 10 years of recent generalist human resources experience.
  • An undergraduate degree is required for this position, and an MBA would be considered a strong asset.
  • Professional expertise in leading the development and implementation of effective programs in all key and traditional areas of human resources management, with particular strengths in recruitment, staffing, talent management, organizational development and labor relations is required for this position.
  • Experience in business environments characterized by growth and change will be of added value, including experience in an organization with reasonably significant international operations.
