Job Description
- As a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Corporate Controller will manage and work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
- This dynamic role offers a chance to be a key member of the corporate finance team.
- The Corporate Controller will take a leadership role directing and coordinating the Company’s consolidated financial close process and day to day accounting activities, technical accounting activities, the annual audit of financial statements, tax activities and accounting operations including financial systems and business process improvement efforts.
- The Corporate Controller will also be integral in maintaining required and appropriate internal controls including adherence to tax requirements.
- The Corporate Controller will work collaboratively with the Financial Planning &Analysis team, as well as with functional leaders throughout the company.
- The Corporate Controller will also be responsible for managing, developing and recruiting a high-performing team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all consolidated corporate accounting activities, including the month-end close, consolidations, general accounting, accounts payable, billings, collections, revenue, payroll and financial reporting with a goal towards public company readiness.
- Implement systems, policies and procedures that will scale to support a high-growth SaaS organization.
- Build a world-class accounting team and mentor existing team members.
- Plan, control, and direct corporate accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, securities and exchange commission regulations, statutory guidelines, tax internal control requirements and internal financial policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate the external audit processes, including managing the relationship with the independent auditors.
- Plan and coordinate local international subsidiary local statutory requirements including financial audits, tax return and other regulatory filings.
- Research, interpret, document, and implement accounting guidance associated with various accounting issues, including revenue recognition, capitalized internally-developed software, and stock compensation.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting and financial reporting issues
- Oversee tax related activities such as sales tax, tax provision, and income tax filings.
Job Requirements
- Must have managerial/Controller experience working with publicly traded companies, preferably technology companies
- Bachelor / Master in Accounting or Finance from an accredited University or College
- 12+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Expert knowledge of the GAAP and securities and exchange commission Reporting.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information: one on one, small groups, executive management, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration with diverse groups.
- Team oriented and able to work independently including hands on audit needs.
- Must be comfortable working in a high pace environment and be able to multi-task
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Zuora and other SaaS based tools a plus.
