The VP/Director of Human Resources is responsible for all aspects of HR, including employee relations, compensation, recruiting, retention, benefits, organizational structure, etc) and ensuring compliance with all company policies. The role will be based in the area.

Job Responsibilities:
  •  Develop a strategic direction of company-wide HR policies, procedures, systems, and initiatives 
  •  Continuously improve systems, processes and support company goals and growth 
  •  Work with all managers and staff to oversee organizational growth, employee relations, performance, benefits, and HRIS 
  •  Build a strong team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning 
  •  Maintain strong internal relationships with key business leaders 
  •  Work closely with recruiting team to recruit top caliber employees 
  •  Oversee store training functions 
  •  Develop, plan and recommend HR budgets 
  •  Work closely with all management teams to ensure staffing requirements are met 
  •  Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  •  Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations.
  •  Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
  •  Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
  • Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Oversee any HR programs 
  • Develop retention programs 
  • Keeps up to date on current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, new developments and HR policies 
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources 
  • Acts as a high level senior advisor on HR related issues to other company executives and all levels of employees within the company

Qualifications
  •  15+ years of diverse Human Resources experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills, HR experience within the retail industry would be an asset 
  •  Successful track record of talent acquisition in a high growth organization 
  •  Able to manage complex projects within the organization 
  •  Excellent time management skills and able to prioritize tasks 
  •  Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills 
  •  Able to build relationships organization wide at all levels and functions 
  •  Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate HR functional, financial or technical information
