Our major clients in utilities, energy, manufacturing, engineering, construction
and the oil & gas sectors, requires a new experienced Product Business Analyst
due to expansion. It is envisaged, that you will be based within striking distance
of Glasgow - though in reality you would simply need to be based near a major
UK airport and be willing to travel to Glasgow on occasion. To suit: mobile
Product Road Map oriented Business Analyst with exposure to similar sectors
and who is a bright and able communicator, and who is definitely interested in
international travel.
For this role you will need:
A good degree calibre education
Two or more years (minimum) of experience working as a product BA with
exposure to customers in the utilities, energy, process manufacturing
(pharmaceuticals, chemicals), engineering & construction, oil & gas or facilities
management arenas - which will have given you an excellent understanding of
the issues typically facing our clients when it comes to selecting IT based
products and services
To be successful in the role you will have excellent listening, communication
and interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts
among project stakeholders you will also need facilitation skills, to lead
requirement elicitation workshops and come up with creative ideas.
· Experience of document management, knowledge management, workflow
· Experience of document management, knowledge management, workflow
systems implementation and technical knowledge of : Documentum, FileNet,
SharePoint, and Oracle/SQL, web application development and CAD/
engineering applications would be desirable, but not essential (more of an
awareness or past usage will help)
· Experience of BPR techniques would be of interest
Responsibilities:
The role of the business analyst is to identify business issues and requirements
and to translate them into a vision of a new or enhanced product road map.
This means creating diagrams, documents, models and storyboards in order to
ensure that the same vision is shared by both customers and all internal
departments (some UML or visio or similar may be of use for this)
Discovery & validation is an ongoing activity and takes several forms including:
reviews, one-to-one interviews and workshops with customers and internal
stakeholders.
Travel will take the shape of several 2 or three week long OS including but not
limited to: USA, Canada, Western Europe and Australia etc
If you are an experienced Analytical BA with exposure to any of these sectors
in conjunction with enterprise level IT solutions and would be interested in this
challenge.
