 Our Leadership Stage India Client is a fast-growing fashion brand. The Company has invested heavily in technology, marketing and an ethical just-in-time manufacturing partner with the goal of building a significant lifestyle brand targeted towards our client brand’s affluent demographic. 

 Our Client is looking for a proven executive to lead the company’s expansion efforts in the India and other markets and operations in Asia and be an integral part of its business development strategy and execution. Ideally the candidate will have experience in a venture-backed company from the Fashion, Ecommerce and/or Direct Sales industry.   Salary and Equity package included. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing executive team and Asia operations team
  • Work closely with the Founder/Board and other key members of senior management to develop and deliver strategic plans and goals, and identify risks, mitigating factors and potential opportunities for the future
  • Work with Management Team to execute our client’s business plan, overall strategy and vision of a company
  • Build a strong culture of accountability and teamwork among employees
  • Create synergistic growth strategies across direct sales, showroom and online channels.
  • Ensure operational excellence by spearheading the development, communication and implementation of best in class strategies and processes in the areas of forecasting and planning, production, sourcing and logistics
  • In conjunction with the Founder, COO, CFO and other key members of the senior management team develop the company’s Annual Operating Plan/Budget including details of projected results, strategies to achieve them, timelines, risks and resources
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and resources designed to accommodate rapid profitable growth and create maximum long-term enterprise value
  • Establish and measure key operational performance indicators for the organization and adjust operational tactics to achieve agreed upon performance goals
  • Define monthly reporting requirements for all Operations functions and provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company
  • Develop quality control systems and processes to deliver optimal performance in all operational areas including production, sourcing and logistics
  • Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and all aspects of our brand’s target market
  • Implement recent Branding guidelines
  • Oversee all aspects of Human Resources in the India and asia
  • Help coordinate expansion in India and Asia.
Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years experience in a leadership role at an apparel, fashion, direct sales or e-commerce company.  Particular focus on fashion brands
  • Experience running a P&L
  • Experience leading or managing a direct sales organization
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • International experience a plus
  • Strong IT understanding
  • People management skills a must
  • Dynamic and proactive leader
  • Proven track record in recruiting employees and growing a business

Job Description

 Our Leadership Stage India Client-Leading FMCG Company is seeking an energetic, highly motivated professional to serve as Chief Financial Officer. 

  • The CFO will have the primary day-to-day responsibility of planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial activities of the company. 
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, analysis, negotiations, lender/investor relationships, property management and financial regulatory compliance to support the continued growth of the company. 
  • As a true business partner, will regularly assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long term strategy for growth.


 Major Job Responsibility:

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Major duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
 Financial Management
• Leads the company-wide development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, financial strategy, linked metrics and procedures in regards to financial and operational management, including budgeting and accounting
• Ensures sound internal financial management control systems and procedures
• Leads the annual budget process and tracking progress against targets by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
• Leads preparation of ongoing required financial statements and operating reports ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting  standards and regulatory requirements
• Inventory management, including Work in Process
• Oversee coordination with Certified accountant firm of preparation of external audit materials, external  financial reporting and all tax compliance and reporting
• Develops and implements compensation structures, including incentive plans and sales compensations structures
Accounting & Administration 
• Oversees and manages the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
• Ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
• Oversee annual audit and auditor relations
• Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year end financial statements
• Review all month-end closing actives, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
Strategy & Executive Leadership
• Serve as member of executive leadership team
• Provides management team with business forecasts that convey timely insights as to prospective profit impacts of changes in selling prices/volumes and/or cost reductions, as needed and as market conditions dictate, that will enable better management decision making
• Develop and manage processes and systems to provide management team with timely financial and operational information in regards to company performance compared to strategic/operation plan and make actionable strategic and tactical recommendations 
• Continuous focus on improving earning before interest,taxes,depreciation and amortization ( EBITDA )and communication of strategies and executable action plans to management team
• Provide leadership in the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
• Play a key role with Managing Partners, Board and management team in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, execution and advise on the financial implications of business activities
• Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities

Qualifications 

 Minimum Education: 
• Bachelor/Master's Degree, CPA and/or MBA a plus

 Minimum Experience : 
• 15 + years in finance working in manufacturing and operations with retail/consumer products driven by marketing
• Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executives, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies
• Significant experience in contract manufacturing, vendor purchasing, production timing and overhead of manufacturing needs
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

  • As a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Corporate Controller will manage and work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer.  
  • This dynamic role offers a chance to be a key member of the corporate finance team. 
  • The Corporate Controller will take a leadership role directing and coordinating the Company’s consolidated financial close process and day to day accounting activities, technical accounting activities, the annual audit of financial statements, tax activities and accounting operations including financial systems and business process improvement efforts. 
  • The Corporate Controller will also be integral in maintaining required and appropriate internal controls including adherence to tax requirements.  
  • The Corporate Controller will work collaboratively with the Financial Planning &Analysis team, as well as with functional leaders throughout the company. 
  • The Corporate Controller will also be responsible for managing, developing and recruiting a high-performing team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all consolidated corporate accounting activities, including the month-end close, consolidations, general accounting, accounts payable, billings, collections, revenue, payroll and financial reporting with a goal towards public company readiness.
  • Implement systems, policies and procedures that will scale to support a high-growth SaaS organization.
  • Build a world-class accounting team and mentor existing team members.
  • Plan, control, and direct corporate accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, securities and exchange commission regulations, statutory guidelines, tax internal control requirements and internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate the external audit processes, including managing the relationship with the independent auditors.
  • Plan and coordinate local international subsidiary local statutory requirements including financial audits, tax return and other regulatory filings.
  • Research, interpret, document, and implement accounting guidance associated with various accounting issues, including revenue recognition, capitalized internally-developed software, and stock compensation.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting and financial reporting issues
  • Oversee tax related activities such as sales tax, tax provision, and income tax filings.

Job Requirements


  • Must have managerial/Controller experience working with publicly traded companies, preferably technology companies
  • Bachelor / Master in Accounting or Finance from an accredited University or College
  • 12+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
  • Expert knowledge of the GAAP and securities and exchange commission Reporting.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information: one on one, small groups, executive management, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration with diverse groups.
  • Team oriented and able to work independently including hands on audit needs.
  • Must be comfortable working in a high pace environment and be able to multi-task
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Zuora and other SaaS based tools a plus.
